Project Instructions
- Getting Started:
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.
- Baking:
Roll Midnight Blue to a sheet no thicker than 1/8”. You can do this with the Acrylic Clay Roller or a pasta machine. If using a pasta machine, sheet the clay to the third thickest setting.
From the sheet cut out two large hexagons and four small hexagons using the Hexagon Mosaic Cutters.

Poke two holes in each hexagon along one side. Keep the holes about 1/8” away from the edge so they will be sturdy. Gently pinch together the clay in between the holes with your fingertips, forming a pleat. Repeat for all the hexagon shapes.
Bake the hexagons following the baking instructions above.
When the pieces are completely cool, string the large hexagon onto the ear wire as shown, running the ear wire back to front through one hole and front to back through the second hole. The silver ear wire will show on the front of the hexagon between the holes.

Add a bead to each side of the large hexagon. Add the small hexagons to either side of the large one. Repeat to put together the second earring.
If you wish, you can bend 90-degree hooks in the ear wires (with flat nose pliers) so they stay secure in the loops.
