Project Instructions
Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275°F (130°C) for 30 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult. Begin by preheating oven to 275°F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the clay dedicated pasta machine several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
Mix a small amount of 18K gold with the Purple clay. With the Clay Conditioning Machine on setting #1, roll the clay into a sheet. Using the Mini Cutter, Maple leaf and cut out 6 leaves. Use the Needle Tool to add leaf veins.

Using your finger add a small amount of the PearlEx powder to the leaves as an accent around the edges. Bake leaves as directed above. Allow to cool and set aside.
Creating your card - Choose 3 of the Butterfly Collection papers you like. On one stamp the saying “fall is when nature turns to goldâ€. I used the 2 pearlescent colors to ink the stamp. Rip the stamped area out and ink edges with Hint of Pesto ink pad.
Rip a thin strip that will fit your card vertically (under your maple leaves) from one of the Butterfly papers, ink edges with Hint of Pesto ink pad. Now, rip a vertical strip a little wider than the first strip from a purple paper in the Ciao Bella Stack. Ink the strip with the Hint of Paisley ink pad.
Assemble paper elements on card using scrapbook adhesive runner. Adhere polymer clay and metal elements with strong white craft glue. Allow to dry. That was easy!
