Getting StartedPolymer clay may stain. CLAY MAY DAMAGE UNPROTECTED FURNITURE OR FINISHED SURFACES. DO NOT USE polymer clay on unprotected surfaces. We recommend working on the Sculpey clay mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult.Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the Clay Conditioning Machine for several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
Using 1 block of Sculpey premo! Accents White Gold Glitter, make a 2” x 9” strip on the #1 (thickest) setting of your clay machine. Starting with a tight curl, roll it into an even log.
Reduce the log to 10” and flatten to an even capsule shape. Trim ends. Set aside.
Three-part Skinner blend: Make a sheet of White Gold Glitter, Pearl and Alizarin Crimson on the #1 thickness. Cut triangles with a 4’ base. Lay them out with sides touching. Trim to 4” total width. Fold as shown and create blend. When the blend is just as you like it, trim and fold with dark at the bottom. Pass through clay machine to form a long strip. Create a jellyroll with the red on the inside.
Make a two-part blend of remaining White Gold Glitter and Alizarin Crimson. Fanfold.Make a small Pearl on a #4 setting.
Reduce jellyroll cane to 6” long. Cut into 3-2” pieces. Place two pieces side by side. Add a small sheet of Pearl over the top. Press into groove with a square rod. Fill bottom between the two logs with a small triangle of pearl.
Cut fanfold cane in half. Pinch into a triangle and reduce to fit on top of the two logs. Form curves on each side with a round rod. Bend down to conform to the side.
Slice into the center as shown. Place a smaller rod into the slit, creating a round channel. Make a tiny snake of Pearl and place in the channel. Add a small strip Pearl and close triangle. Pinch into a sharp equilateral triangle and reduce to 6”.
Make a 2 ¼ x 2 ¼ square of White Gold Glitter on a #1 setting of your clay machine. Cut through a plastic bag with the 2” round cutter. Place spoon bail onto the silver circle with Sculpey Bake n’ Bond.
Make a 2”x2” square of Pearl on the #1 setting. Cut with square Sculpey Premo Wavy Cutter through plastic. Lay square on top of circle.
Cut six even slices from the cane and assemble into a hexagon. Cut through plastic with round Premo Wavy cutter and place on top of the Pearl Square. To add a center accent, make an indentation with a ball stylus. Place accent in the indentation. Bake, cool, glue accent in after cooling.
Cut remaining triangular cane in half. Place opposite sides together and force into a square.See Youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watchM&t=6s
Starting in the center of your bases, apply cane slices. Match cane to cover the base. Smooth with gentle pressure using your fingertips. Trim ends.
In the center of the collar, make a slit with your craft knife. Insert spoon bail with a dab of Sculpey Bake n’Bond. Place spoon bails in each end using the same method.
Bend 4 silver pins around a small round plier. Pinch together to create a neat loop. Bend one side up in a small hook. Trim.
Place the four hooks at even intervals along the collar. Place collar on a medium sized bowl. Press down firmly. Bake with the pendant for 1 hour at 275. Cool completely. Apply Sculpey Gloss Glaze. Allow to dry.
Attach pendant with jump ring. Cut 4 same-size pieces of chain and open links to attach to the four loops. Try on the collar and fit it to your liking. Attach chain to the two bails on the ends of the collar, adjust length and add toggle clasp with remaining two jump rings. Whoo Hoooo! Go get a new outfit with a nice portrait neckline to show off your beautiful princess collar.
