Project Instructions
- Getting Started:
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.
- Baking:
Use a round cookie cutter or other form that you know will make a nice size bracelet for your wrist. It should be tight going over your fist, but fits nicely at your wrist. First prepare your form. If you are using a metal cookie cutter, create a barrier between the cutter and your clay. Wrap a strip of deli paper or wax paper tightly around the outside of the cutter. Secure the paper in place with a piece of clear tape. Roll the entire 2oz. bar of Galaxy Glitter to a thick rope that is just long enough to wrap around the form.
Trim the seam as needed and smooth the seam closed with your fingertips.
Push the clay close to the form at the top edge and at the bottom edge. Leave the clay very thick in the middle. Here’s a side view so that you can see the profile shape of the bangle. Smooth all edges with your fingertips to get the best finish that you can.
Make random divots through the middle of the bangle with the 6mm ball tool.
Set medium sized Opal pearls in the divots with the Medium Etch ‘n Pearl.
Snuggle little pearls of Pearl randomly along the edges of the Opal pearls.
Make black holes randomly around the outside of the band of stars with the 2mm ball tool.
Bake the clay bracelet on the form following the baking instructions in Step 1. The deli paper or wax paper will be fine in the oven and will help you get the bracelet off of the form after it’s cool.
When the bracelet is completely cool, carefully squeeze the clay bangle to help it flex away from the form. Then slide it carefully off so that you preserve the shape of the form for future use.
