Sculpey Premo™ Faux Stone Rose Earrings

Getting Started:

Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

Baking (also called Curing):

Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake/cure clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per 1/4" (6
mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic
surfaces are also acceptable for baking/curing; however please note that the
baking/curing times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take
longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE
MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.

Roll a slab of Rose Gold Metallic, Light Pink, Ecru, Translucent, and 18k Gold on the
thickest setting making the Translucent a little larger than the rest.

Cut each slab as referenced in the photo—break up the pieces and set them aside.

Mix till combined then form into a cubed cane.

Cut several thick slices (roughly ¼ inch) and roll them through the clay machine on
the thickest setting. Choose which two slabs you like the most to create your
earrings.

Make two cutouts with your imperfect oval cutter

Make another two cutouts with the small circle cutter

Roll a slab of Rose Gold Metallic on the second thinnest setting and cut several
circles with different-sized tiny circle clay cutters for the petals. Dip
cutters in cornstarch for the tiny circles to avoid sticking.

Place all the tiny circles on the foam board. Drag the circles with your ball tool in
a motion toward you (one end to the other) to make a thin petal. The petal
should not stick to the ball tool if this problem occurs lightly dust your ball
tool with cornstarch. Repeat with the rest of the circles to make several
petals as shown.

Grab your flat-end tool to grab the large petals from the pointed end and press onto
the small circle base from Step 5B to create the base of a flower using 5
petals.

Build the second layer of the flower with the medium size petals as in Step 8 placing
5 petals.

Build the center layer with 3 small petals. Place a small dot of Liquid Sculpey in
the center and press in the center stamen. Poke a small hole below the flower
with a needle tool on the base for later, do the same for the oval base.

Bake/cure according to Step 1

Add a dot of super glue on the opposite side of the flower base

Loop a jump ring through the holes on the flower base and the oval, close with pliers.
Repeat for the other earring
