Project Instructions
    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

    Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Compare the width of the bangle form to the size of the texture pattern that you would like to use. This helped me to determine which direction the ovals texture would work best for my bangle.
Sheet Mandarin Soufflé through the Clay Conditioning Machine to the second or third thickest setting. The thickness of the sheet should match the depth of the area between the raised edges on the metal bangle. The sheet should also be long enough to wrap completely around the bangle form. Spritz the surface of the Soufflé with a light mist of water. This will help keep the texture sheet from sticking to the clay while getting a super deep texture. Place the texture sheet image side down on the damp clay. Push hard with your fingertips to make the texture bite into the clay. Once the texture is securely in place, you can roll over it with the Acrylic Clay Roller to make it as deep as possible
Carefully remove the texture sheet by peeling it up from one corner. Match the pattern of the texture directly next to the textured clay image so that you can repeat the pattern. Repeat step 3 to make a continuous pattern that is long enough to wrap around the bracelet.
When you are completely finished texturing the clay, remove any remaining moisture by lightly blotting with paper towel. Trim out a strip of the texture that is long enough to wrap around the bangle.
Carefully place the textured strip in the recessed area of the bangle. Smooth edges with your fingertips and make sure there is no air trapped between the clay and the metal. Trim the ends, butt them together and smooth the seam.
Dip your fingertip into pearl mica powder. Tap excess powder off into the lid liner. Swirl your fingertip around in the lid liner to make sure the mica powder on your finger is smooth and not clumpy. Carefully apply mica powder to the raised surfaces of the textured clay. After all the textured area is covered, bake the bracelet following the baking instructions for Soufflé. Allow to cool completely before wearing.
