Project Instructions
- Clay Getting Started:
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.
- Clay Baking:
- Liquid Getting Started:
- Liquid Baking:
Fill the Lace Silicone Mold with Bronze Liquid Sculpey® (LS). Bake the mold following the instructions for curing LS. When the mold is completely cool, gently flex it to remove the molded piece. Sheet Soufflé through the clay conditioning machine to the second thickest setting. Cut out two diamond shapes from the clay. Decide which areas of the Bronze molded lace piece you like best to use in your earring design. Cut these pieces out with sharp scissors. Press the molded pieces slightly into the Soufflé diamonds. Bake the diamond shapes following the instructions for Soufflé. The molded LS pieces will bond to the Soufflé pieces during this baking.
When the pieces are completely cool, drill a hole at the top of each one leaving at least 1/8” of space between the hole and the edge of the clay. Add jump rings and ear wires.
