Project Instructions
    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

    Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Using the Acrylic Clay Roller roll out 1/4 block of White Premo to a thickness not more than 1/8” thick.
Mix 1/16 block of Alizarin Crimson with 1/16 block of White.
Mix 1/16 block of Spanish Olive with 1/16 block of White.
For the terrazzo look we will use small amounts of the two colors we mixed in Step 3 and also small amounts of Spanish Olive, Alizarin Crimson, and Beige.

Next pinch off bits of the Spanish Olive and press them randomly onto the sheet. Then follow with bits of light Alizarin Crimson, light Spanish Olive, and finally Beige. Roll over the sheet with the Acrylic Clay Roller to level the sheet.
Cut out one large, one medium and one small circle. Cut the center out of the large circle with the smallest circle..
Cut the large and medium circles in half with a blade.
Arrange the pieces as shown.
Carefully make holes in the pieces using the needle tool to poke neatly all the way through the clay. Go through from front to back then back to front to make the holes really neat.
Here’s the layout of how the holes should line up. One hole at the bottom of each small circle directly over a hole at the top of each medium half circle. Two holes at the bottom of the half circles directly across from two holes at the top of the crescent shapes. After the holes are made, bake the pieces following the baking instructions for Premo.
Connect the pieces using jump rings as shown. Glue ear posts to the backs of the top circles and allow to dry completely.
