Project Instructions
    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

    Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Roll a snake of Garnet Glitter clay approximately 1/2” thick by 3” long.

Roll snakes of Pearl, Jewelry Gold, Candy Pink that are 1/4” by 3” long.
Twist these snakes together. Fold in half. Roll and twist. Repeat this process a few times to marble the clays together.
Roll the marbled clay into a ball.

Run this marbled clay through the clay machine on the #1 setting (wide open). Set aside.
Condition and run 1/2 block of Garnet Glitter through the clay machine on the #1 setting.

Place a sheet of plastic wrap on the top of the two sheets of clay.

Use your 1-1/4” circle cutter and cut out 1 large circle of Garnet Glitter and 1 large circle from the marbled sheet.

Use the 1/2” circle cutter and cut out two small circles form the Garnet Glitter sheet.

Remove the plastic wrap that was used to make the edges of the circles curved.
Cut both the larger circles in half.

Arrange the earrings with the small Garnet Glitter circles at the top. The 1/2 Marbled circles under those and then the 1/2 larger Garnet Glitter circles under the marbled halves. Peel away small pieces of gold Leaf with your 5 in 1 tool and press small pieces of the gold leaf randomly onto the Garnet Glitter bottom halves.

Create holes to accommodate the jump rings at the base of each small circle.

Create holes at the top middle and each bottom corner of the marbled halves.

Create holes in the upper corners of the Garnet Glitter halves. Each earring should have six holes total.
Bake the clay pieces according to Step 1 above. Allow to cool.

Use your jewelry pliers and attach the jump rings onto each earring to connect the pieces together.

Once the earrings are assembled turn them over. Put a drop of Super glue onto the top circles and press on the earring backs. Allow the glue to dry completely.
