Getting StartedPolymer clay may stain. CLAY MAY DAMAGE UNPROTECTED FURNITURE OR FINISHED SURFACES. DO NOT USE polymer clay on unprotected surfaces. We recommend working on the Sculpey clay mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult.Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the Clay Conditioning Machine for several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.

Condition clay as directed above before starting your project and sheet it on #3 setting of the Sculpey Clay Conditioning Machine.Copy the flower template. Flowers will be apx 1.5 inches.

Craft Knife Users – Print the flower template on cardstock and cut out the shape to use as a stencil for cutting the clay. Place your white clay on a cutting mat. Lay your stencil on the clay and follow the design with the craft knife. Cut nine flowers.

Curio Users – A) Lay out the design in your Silhouette software. Duplicate the flower to create multiple images. Place the white clay on the shiny side of freezer paper. Position the paper on your Curio cutting mat using four platforms. Unscrew the red cap from the Deep Cut Blade and turn it to the red #20 setting. Leave the red cap off while cutting the clay. In the software cut settings chose: Thick Fabric Like Canvas, Blade 10, Speed 3, and Thickness 20. Send the job to the Curio machine to cut. B) Once cut, cover the clay with deli film. Flip the clay over and peel off the freezer paper. Cover the wrong side with another sheet of deli film. Remove the plastic from the right side of the clay. With your fingernail, push up on the backside of the pieces to remove them. The plastic will stretch slightly and allow the elements to easily dislodge from the rest of the clay.

With a sponge brush apply red mica powder to the center of the flower. Move the sponge toward the outer edges of the petals to distribute the color.

Add gold Mica Powder to the edges of the petals and drag the color toward the center of the flower blending with the red. Sponge green Mica Powder onto the stem.

Use the same powder technique to create three flowers in each color – pearl white, red, and purple, all with gold edges.

Place deli film on the right side of the flower. Press it onto the large metal mold. Push down on the petal edges to make them thinner than the rest of the flower and create more dimension. Remove the deli film. Press a gold hot fix rhinestone into the center of the flower. Bake the clay at 275 degrees for 30 minutes. After the clay is cool, slip a tissue blade between the flower and the metal mold, working around the clay. Do not pry or bend the petals

Use a brush to apply glaze to each flower to protect the Mica Powder.

Join the flowers to each other with gold jump rings inserted through the holes in the petals. Alternate the flower colors – gold, red, and purple.
