Project Instructions
    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured Liquid Polymer Clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately. - Stir Liquid Sculpey® completely. Thin with Sculpey® Liquid Clay Softener as needed - Wash hands after use (we have found that baby wipes work best)

    Baking:
•It is important to use oven thermometer when you bake the liquids so that you can ensure your oven is at the correct temperature.•Do not microwave the liquids. They must be baked in a Preheated oven at 275 ºF (130 ºC) for liquid colors and 300 ºF (149 ºC) for Clear – Do not exceed baking temperatures.•If your piece is less than 1/4” bake for 15 minutes. For thicker pieces that are 1/4” or above bake for 30 minutes. •If your liquid project has become yellowed or discolored in the oven, when you remake it, tent it by placing either – folding an index card in half and placing your project under it or by using aluminum foil over your project.
First let’s highlight the edges of the feather shapes with the Pearl Liquid Sculpey® (LS) color. Dip a disposable paintbrush in Pearl LS. Carefully brush a little bead of the Pearl LS into the edges only of the medium sized feather cavity.
Use a toothpick or the tip of the Needle Tool to drag the Pearl LS into the feather shape making little streaks. Be sure to go in the same direction as the lines in the mold.
Repeat Steps 2-3 in the small feather shape as well.
Carefully fill the medium and small feathers cavities with Amber Translucent LS.
Drag the Needle Tool carefully through the quill area of both feathers to make sure there are no air bubbles trapped in the quills. Remove the Needle Tool from the LS and wipe it clean with a paper towel. Gently tap the mold on your work surface to remove air bubbles
Bake the mold following the baking instructions for LS. When the mold is completely cool, gently flex it to remove the feather shapes. Repeat Steps 2-7 to make a second set.
Carefully apply gold metallic paint with a paintbrush to just the quills of each feather. Allow the paint to dry completely.
Poke a hole all the way through each of the quills with the Needle Tool. You may have to poke the Needle Tool through the hole several times as the holes will tend to self heal when the tool is removed.
Assemble the finished earrings as follows: Open one side of the double connector and add the turquoise bead on an eye pin to the connector. Close the connector with flat nose pliers.Open the other side of the double connector and place it on a jump ring. Close the double connector.Open the jump ring and thread the large feather onto one side of the double connector.Place the small feather onto the jump ring on the other side of the double connector. Add the ear wire and then close the jump ring with flat nose pliers.Repeat all steps for the second matching earring
