Project Instructions
    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

    Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Sheet your conditioned Cornflower clay out on the widest setting on the clay conditioning machine. Lightly spray your texture with water and either roll through the clay conditioning machine (if possible) or press firmly into the sheet of clay. Remove the texture. NOTE: This shelving liner goes through the clay conditioning machine. It’s double sided, so I chose my favorite side and notched the top edge on left corner so I know which side I want to use!
Use the long edge of the clay blade to cut two strips that are about 1/2 inch by 6 inches. You can adjust both measurements to suit your wishes.
Use the wedge shape beauty sponge to lightly brush the pastel across the top of the pattern on both strips. Bake both strips flat using the directions in Step 1.
After the clay has baked and cooled, fold the clay over and either use a needle tool to push through the clay or a pin vise drill (mine is from Citadel paints). Souffle is so easy to drill after baking, that I almost always wait to drill after baking to create cleaner holes.
Assemble your earrings using the larger jump ring to hold the strips together and thread a bead on each side of the jump ring. Close the ring and attach the smaller jump ring and ear wire.
Make a pair in all the Souffle Colors!
