Project Instructions

Step 1

Getting Started with Getting Started with Sculpey® Bake Shop

Bake at 275 °F (130 °C) 15 minutes per 1/4 inch (6 mm) thickness.

To avoid cracking or burning your craft, use an oven thermometer to gauge heat and avoid going over the necessary baking time.

An adult should take care of the baking in a home oven or toaster oven. Never use a microwave to bake the clay.

DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING
TIME.

Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey Tools™ Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Step 2

Roll Tan clay into a thick snake that can fit into a clay extruder.

Step 3

Push the clay through your clay extruder and allow it to lightly fall onto your work mat.

Step 4

Now gently take each individual strand and allow it to fall into a natural but random way to look like a plate of pasta.

Step 5

Continue to layer each strand of clay until it looks like a realistic pasta plate.

Step 6

With your fingers, push the edges of the clay into towards the middle to make the pasta look more circular and tightened together.

Step 7

Make 3 small balls of red clay. These will become your meatballs!

Step 8

Take a piece of rolled up tin foil and roll it all over each of the 3 red clay balls. This will give your clay a meatball texture.

Step 9

Place the 3 meatballs on top of the pasta. Gently push them into the pasta to help the clay bond together.

Step 10

Take a very small amount of green clay and rip tiny little pieces to push into the meatballs. This will add the look of spices to your
meatballs.

Step 11

Take another small piece of green clay and mold it into a leaf.

Step 12

Take the tool from your bendy kit and make lines to make it look like a leaf. Do this again to make a total of 2 leaves.

Step 13

Place both leaves in the center of the meatballs. You are now ready to bake the completed design. Allow to cool before moving onto your chosen display plate.
