Project Instructions
    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

    Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Roll a snake of Blue Glitter clay approximately 1/2” thick by 4” long.

Roll a snake of Navy Pearl Clay approximately 1/8” by 4” long.

Twist these two snakes together. Fold in half. Twist and roll again. Repeat this process a few times to marble the clay colors together.
Roll the clay into a marbled ball and then roll it back out into a snake that is approximately ½” thick by 4” long. Set aside.
Do the same with the Pearl clay and the Navy Pearl clay. Roll into a marbled ball and then back out into a snake that is 1/2” thick by 4”.

Roll a snake of just Pearl clay that is the same size.
Cut 1/2” sized pieces from these snakes to make your beads.
Spread a drop of water in the 13mm measuring cup.
Press the clay into the bead measuring cup.
Use your knife to trim away any excess clay.
Remove the clay from the cup and roll into a ball. Place the ball into the bead roller and roll your beads.
You will need the following for beads:
6 marbled Blue Glitter/Navy Pearl beads
3 marbled Pearl/Navy Blue Pearl beads
3 Pearl beads.
It never hurts to make some extras as well.

Once your beads are all made you can use the pointed ends of the beading skewers to make holes in the centers of all your beads. Keep the beads right on the skewers for baking in the bead rack.

Bake the beads in the oven at 275 degrees for 15 minutes. Allow to cool. Remove the beads from the skewers.
You are ready to string your beads onto your Stretch Magic cording. (Make SURE that the beads have completely cooled! Elastic can shrink when exposed to heat.) Cut a piece of cording approximately 8” long.

String on your beads in the following order: Marbled Blue Glitter/Navy Blue Pearl, silver spacer bead, Marbled Pearl/ Navy Blue Pearl, silver spacer bead, Marbled Blue Glitter/Navy Blue Pearl, silver spacer bead, Pearl bead, Silver spacer bead, repeat.

You will end up with 6 marbled Blue Glitter/Navy Blue Pearl beads, 3 marbled Pearl/Navy Blue Pearl beads, 3 Pearl beads, 12 Silver spacer beads.

Tie the stretch cording in a tight square knot. Tie another square knot. Add a drop of Super glue onto the knot and tuck the knot inside one of the Silver spacer beads to hide it.
