Project Instructions
- Getting Started:
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.
- Baking:
Condition and roll approximately a 2.5” ball of Terra Cotta clay. Flatten and run this through the Sculpey Clay Machine on the #1 (or widest) setting.
Fold in half to double the thickness. Cut out a circle approximately 3.5 to 4” in diameter. Smooth the edges.

Press this circle into your glass bowl making sure it is centered. Press it into the dish from the center out getting all the air bubbles out.

Paint the inside of your dish with White acrylic paint. You may need three coats. Allow paint to dry completely between coats.
With a pencil lightly trace around a small 3/4” circle cutter in the center of the bowl. Use a ruler to help you create lines for the rest of your design to give you a guide when you paint.
Once your design has been drawn lightly on the bowl you can start painting the design in Black acrylic paint.
Once your design is complete and the paint has dried you can erase any lines that may still be showing.
