Project Instructions
- Getting Started:
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.
- Baking (also called Curing):
Use the Clay Blade to chop 1/8 bar of Cabernet Soufflé™ and 1/8 bar of Alizarin Crimson Premo™ into little bits. As you are chopping, allow the bits to scramble themselves so they are really intermixed.
Push the bits together into a rough patty.
Roll the patty with the Acrylic Clay Roller to make the bits attach to each other.
If you want the bits to marble and mix more, you can fold the sheet in half and roll it out flat again.
This technique will blend the edges of the bits more so that you create a marbled effect.
Roll the sheet to 1/8” thick.
Cut out large teardrop shapes. Remove the center of each large teardrop with a smaller teardrop cutter.
Sprinkle little bits of broken craft glass around the bottom edges. Carefully make sure the glass is embedded slightly into the clay.
Bake the clay following the baking instructions for Sculpey Soufflé™ and allow to cool completely before handling

Use a paintbrush to apply Sculpey® Glossy Glaze to the fronts of the teardrops sealing the glass bits into place. Allow to dry completely. Add more than one coat if you wish, allowing each coat to dry completely before adding another.
Here’s the layout for earring assembly.
Use flat nose pliers to open and close jump rings assembling earrings as shown.
