Sculpey Bake Shop® Bendy Whimsical Elephant

Getting Started:

Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces.  Start with clean hands and work surface area.  Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil.  Knead clay until soft and smooth.  For best results, clean your hands in between colors.  Shape clay, pressing pieces
together firmly. 

Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 285 degrees (130 C) for 15 minutes per ¼” (6mm) thickness.  For best baking results, use and oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN.  DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR
RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use.  Baking should be completed by an adult.

Roll the following balls out of your Yellow clay:

1 large ball approximately 1 ½” in diameter (body of
elephant)

2 small balls approximately ½” in size (ears)

Roll a small ball of Red approximately ¼” in size (heart)

Roll two tiny balls of Black (eyes)

Combine a small amount of Red and White clay together to
make Pink.

Roll the Pink into a very thin snake approximately 2” long.

Roll very thin snakes of Orange, Red, Green, Blue that are
2” long.

Shape the large Yellow ball into a very simple chubby elephant shape.  Pinch to make the trunk.  Curve the trunk upward.  Pinch a little tail.  Use your fingers to make four stumpy legs.  Smooth.

Take your two smaller Yellow balls and shape them into teardrop shapes and flatten.  Use your fingertip to indent each ear.

Attach the ears to either side of the head.

Press a little Black ball on either side of the head for the eyes.  Roll teeny weeny White balls of clay and press them on the Black eyes for light highlight.

Shape your Red ball into a chubby little heart shape.  Press firmly onto the top of the trunk.

Cut tiny equal sized pieces of all the colored snakes.  Roll them into tiny balls. 

To make polka dots on the elephant press the different colored balls randomly all over the body.

Bake according to package directions.  Allow to cool and ENJOY!
