What a fun little owl! You can glue a magnet on the back, or add a jump ring and make it a pendant or backpack decoration.
COMPLETION TIME: 6-12 minutes plus baking
ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES
- Small magnet
- Glue or hardware to create a pendant
Project Instructions
- Getting Started:
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.
- Baking:
Shape 1/2 bar of Brown into a thick teardrop.
Flatten the teardrop and pinch points for ears.
Make a shingle pattern on the body for feathers with the scoop shaped tool.
Shape 1/8 bar of Orange into two (2) teardrop shapes. Pinch flat to form wings.
Press the wings onto the body curving them around the sides. Prick little lines in the wings using the tip of any of the flat tools.
Make eye sockets with the ball tool.
Fill the eye sockets with round balls of Orange.
Flatten the Orange eyes with the ball tool.
Fill the eyes with little Yellow balls. Flatten the Yellow balls with the ball tool.
Place Black pupils in the middle.
Add a triangle shaped nose.
Bake your completed owl according to the directions above in Step 1
