Please note:
This ornament requires 2 bakings, but it's worth it.
Directions:
Step 1: Condition
blue pearl clay by running it through pasta machine on widest setting.
Step 2 Repeat
conditioning with 'gold' Premo. The more you run it through the shinier
it will become because the 'mica' will line up.

Step 3: Draw
and cut out templates according to diagram.
Step 4: Place
largest dome template on top of Gold Premo Place smallest dome template
on top of Blue Pearl Carefully cut around templates.

Step 5: Centre
blue dome on top of gold dome.

Step 6. Using
texture tool, carefully create pleasing design around outside edge
of gold clay.

Step 7. Using
clay gun, extrude a 'snake' of gold clay and 'outline' blue dome.
Be sure to secure this snake to the clay. You may do this by hand
if you do not have a clay gun.

Step 8: Bake at
275 F for approximately 10 minutes. Let cool.
Step 9: Using
your 320 wet/dry sandpaper, carefully sand the inside blue dome keeping
the paper very wet. It doesn't take much time. Repeat with the 400
and 600 grit. This should give you a very nice surface on which to
'draw' your design.
Step 10: Using
the 'fine' tip of the TLS bottle, carefully draw your design onto
the blue clay. Please note: If you are not comfortable drawing 'free
hand' you may transfer a design onto the clay using transfer paper
and pencil.

Step 11: The tree
design shown was accomplished by first 'drawing' the design and letting
the TLS find it's own level. Using a 'needle' tool, carefully drag
the tool through the TLS creating a 'feathered' look to the branches.
Work from top to bottom until you have a pleasing design.

Step 12: Sprinkle
'embossing powder' (I used a Snowflake type) and cover your TLS design.

Step 13: Carefully
pick up ornament and 'shake' off excess powder onto a clean piece
of paper. This will allow you to pour the excess back into the container.

Step 14: Place
a small drop of TLS onto the 'back' of the ornaments and secure to
it a piece of wire for hanging with a small piece of gold clay.

Step 15: Bake
AGAIN at 275 F for 15 minutes. Please note: Do not try to skip the
second baking by using the embossing powder directly onto the 'unbaked'
clay. It will stick to everything and your design will be ruined.
Step 16: Optional:
Brush on glaze or Future. ENJOY.

These ornaments
may be hung directly on your tree OR used as a lovely 'gift tag' with
ample room on back for writing. Here
are some other samples using different embossing powders and clay
colours. This technique also works great for pins.
Here are a couple
of 'variations' using Red Pearl and Pearl Premo.
