- Kemper square
cutter size of choice
- Oven set to
bake reliably at 275 degrees Fahrenheit
- Clean old
baking pan, cookie pan, or doubled foil sheet, lined with index
cards
- Pin back
- Super glue
Directions:

- Run 1/2 piece
of red and 1/2 piece of white clay separately through the number
2 setting of an Atlas pasta machine several times to condition the
clay. When rolling through the last time, roll into an elongated
rectangle. Stack the white on top of the red clay, and use a small
brayer to roll the clay stack eliminating any bubbles.
- Trim the clay
stack with the clay blade until you have a long rectangle.

- Cut the rectangle
in half width-ways, and stack them on top of one another, creating
a thick slab of red and white striped clay.
- Repeat the
process, and trim any uneven edges with the clay blade Roll 1/4
of a piece of blue clay through the Atlas on setting 5. Slice a
1/4 inch thick piece of one of the short ends of the stacked slab.
- Use the square
Kemper cutter to make the blue field . Press in place, and cut a
thin star from a white piece of clay rolled out on a setting 6 on
the Atlas pasta machine. Position the single star in the center
of the blue field. Be sure it is pressed firmly in place. Make several
if you wish, and bake on the baking sheet at 275 for 30 minutes,
remove to cool, add pin back using super glue.
