Materials and Tools:

Clay Modeling Tool
- Toothpick
- Paper clip or craft wire, 1½" length
- Ribbon
- Clay roller
BASIC INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Start with clean hands and work area. Work on a glass or metal surface, disposable foil or wax paper. Do not use uncured clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces.
2. Knead clay for 2 minutes before making project.
3. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 130° C (275° F for U.S. Consumers) for 15 minutes per 6mm (¼") of thickness. Baking should be done by an adult. Do not microwave. Do not over bake. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
4. Wash hands after use.
Directions:
1. Roll Brown clay flat and use modeling tool to cut house and chimney shapes. Roll 1 small and 3 medium-sized White logs. Press logs flat into bumpy snow shapes. Position house and chimney close together on work surface and press snow to chimney, roof and base of house. Gently push paper clip into top of house for hanger, or twist wire ends together to make a loop and push ends into clay.
2. Roll a medium-sized Red oval and press flat. Use modeling tool to trim bottom edge. Score lines in door. Roll 2 tiny Black logs for hinges and press to left side of door. Roll tiny Black ball and press to right side for doorknob. Roll 2 small White teardrop shapes and press to door, making heart window. Press door to house.
3. Roll thin Red rope and skinny White rope. Twist ropes together to make candy canes. Cut 2 lengths for larger canes and bend tips to opposite sides. Press canes to house. Roll remaining candy cane rope even thinner and cut 2 more lengths for house trim. Shape canes and press to house.
4. Roll long Green log and shape into wreath form. Press wreath to house. Use modeling tool or toothpick to add texture to wreath. Roll 2 Red teardrop shapes for bow loops, 1 Red oval for bow center and 2 Red triangles for bow tails. Press bow shapes to wreath. Score lines in loops with toothpick.
5. Bake clay according to Basic Instructions. Let clay cool completely. Tie ribbon through wire hanger.
